KATHE ROGERS, RSW, MSW

We all have a story.

Our stories help us to process and understand our relationships and experiences.

Counselling provides an opportunity for you to give voice to your story, and to develop a new vocabulary for greater insight.

In my practice, I am committed to creating a supportive environment in which you can share and explore your story in the context of a non-judgmental, caring relationship.

Counselling provides an opportunity for you to give voice to your story, and to develop a new vocabulary for greater insight.

In my practice, I am committed to creating a supportive environment in which you can share and explore your story in the context of a non- judgmental, caring relationship.

In finding your voice, you can challenge difficult thoughts and feelings, confront shame, and develop new understandings of self.  This process can support you in acknowledging your own resilience, and move you towards change through authentic discovery, growth, and feelings of renewed connection and wholeness.

I offer an empathic approach and work in collaboration with my clients, prioritizing their capacity for self-determination. I can work with you in short-term, solution-focused counselling, or build a relationship towards more long-term, in-depth work.

Together, we can create openings for these new understandings, contextualizing and validating your experiences, and shifting your perspectives.

Hello! My name is Kathe.

I’ve been providing support to individuals and communities — and giving voice to underrepresented issues and to organizations in the not-for-profit sector — for close to 20 years.

My professional and volunteer roles have demonstrated my commitment to social justice, and I work from a feminist, anti-racist, and anti-oppressive perspective.

Areas of specialization in my practice include depression, anxiety, self-esteem/body image, personal/professional growth, and interpersonal/relationship issues.

I have a Master’s in Social Work from York University. I’m registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers & Social Service Workers, and I’m a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers.

Why a Social Worker?*
Social workers are unique among helping professionals because they explore the challenges people face within the context of their families and communities, and consider the connection between personal challenges and larger social issues. Social workers help identify the source of stress or difficulty, help people to develop coping skills and find effective solutions to the challenges they face, offer various forms of counselling and therapy, and mediate between conflicts.

*edited from the Ontario Association of Social Workers.
